About a year-and-a-half ago I started this blog as a way to get out various rants and ideas I couldn’t share on our family blog. In that time, I’ve really only redesigned my blog once–when I made the transition from Blogger to WordPress about a year ago.
Now, it’s time to refine the design, architecture and approach again through a different lens: As a small business owner.
To get things started, I’ve asked blog guru, Matt Cheuvront, to give me “5 Amazing Minutes” (his words) and ideas on what I can do better and more effectively on my blog. You can also get a glimpse on his thoughts on a number of other blogs in this 5 Amazing Minutes series (great idea, by the way; I may be asking Matt to help me with my redesign in the weeks ahead).

Now, I’d like your thoughts. From a reader point of view. From a potential client point of view. Or, even just your general impressions and thoughts on how I could improve this space. Lemme have it. I’d really value your input. Honestly.

Agree with Matt on the direction of the blog. Do you want it strictly as a blog, or more along the lines of ACH? Once you get that figured out, the changes/edits/etc go from there.
Personally, I like the banner, so I don't think that needs to change.

LikeSome good ideas in that video. Here are some more thoughts.
Put your photo on the sidebar, so it's on every page, not just the About Arik page. The impact of something like that, which seems small, can be huge. Makes the site and the thoughts within seem more real, more meaningful.
Consider putting a logo for ACH Communications atop the site, as well, to convey something along the lines of "Communications Conversations... brought to you by ACH Communications.
